Skating into the New Year with Nova

In January, Nova invited over 100 parents and children from our Family Programme to glide into the New Year with two special ice skating trips. Thanks to the generosity of our friends at perhaps the most unique and beautiful open-air ice rinks in London, we were able to offer our families an afternoon of ice skating at Hampton Court, surrounded by spectacular views of the historic Tudor palace, and at the Natural History Museum, where it was the last chance ever to skate amongst the illuminated trees in the magical museum gardens!

Many of the families had never ice skated before but those with experience helped others to stay upright, and the children, in particular, were thrilled to find themselves quickly picking up new skills on the ice.

“[My son] skated for the first time but went without the penguin by the end. We felt so grateful to see the Palace lit up, what a gorgeous location!”

It was the first the first big opportunity for many of our families to come together as a group after the Christmas School Holidays and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with lots of people excited to come back and try again next winter!

“It was wonderful, my girls love it…we had a marvellous time — thank you Nova!”
